The team of volunteers who put up Coverack Christmas lights work hard every year to put on an impressive display and work is already well underway. From the poles that hold the strings of lights to individual features, such as the Christmas pudding, Dolphins and helicopter. There is a rolling programme of upgrading and maintaining Coverack Christmas Lights with some features being rested and some new features appearing, the end result will be another spectacular display. The traditional ‘Coverack Christmas Tree Night’ marks the start of the Christmas lights in Coverack village. On Saturday 7th December a lantern procession and Coverack School children singing and signing Christmas carols will start the event. Once the tree lights are on, Father Christmas will arrive in his pony drawn sleigh, to give a present to every child. The band plays Christmas Carols, adding to the festive atmosphere and a team of volunteers worked hard providing hot beef sandwiches and hot dogs. We appreciate the support from those who donate, buy raffle tickets and attend the fund raising events put on by The Bay Hotel, The Paris and The Lifeboat House, earlier in the year. All support is very much appreciated and goes towards the annual upkeep of Coverack Christmas lights as well as supporting children in the area and providing a gift for every child on Christmas Tree Night. Coverack Christmas Lights will be switched on, on Saturday 7th December and will remain on until Twelfth Night, the beautiful lights reflecting in the sea are well worth a visit but before all of that a lot of volunteers put in a lot of hours to make the village look so lovely over the festive period.
