Coverack December 23 Update

Watch this CS2000 Space!
This month we had the honor of running a remembrance workshop at the school. We had two excellent speakers
to talk about their careers in the Navy and time spent in the Falklands. Both had some interesting stories to tell
and the children asked some excellent questions. After all that sitting down we got creative and made some
fabulous felt poppy badges. All the children, from small to tall, had a go at sewing and they all went home with a
bright, vibrant badge to wear. Huge thank you to our volunteer speakers, John and Andy and our crafty helpers
Sally, Penny, Debby and Sue and to all the school staff who chipped in to help. It’s always a lovely afternoon.
We also had an informal ‘lend a hand if you can’ lantern repairing workshop this month. The willow lanterns used
in the Christmas parade were in need of some tlc. Vanessa from Penacre Willow helped with the more technical
side and a few school mums gave up their time to help Joan and I repair and uplift the lanterns. It was a really
lovely crafty evening.
CS2000 was set up to raise funds for additional space at Coverack School, and has continued to organize events
in the village, promote Coverack businesses and support our small village School. It also maintains the Coverack
Village Cornwall website, Coverack Village Facebook and Instagram pages and provides a monthly update of
What’s On in Coverack and our annual What’s On in Coverack guide.
