                                             URGENT AND IMPORTANT

As you are hopefully aware Coverack has a very successful RNLI Branch. It comprises of a retail arm – run by Sheila Prior and an events team which is chaired by Ian Bayley.

The events team runs a selection of quizzes, catering events, live events and of course the renowned Lifeboat Day.

The Branch generates over £7500 annually from events and approximately £9000 in retail sales. The RNLI head office in Poole is extremely appreciative of our efforts.

The team consists of a number of committee members who organise all the events and have done for numerous years.

The Chairman, Vice-Chairman, and others have been in their roles for many years and they all feel that as a result of health issues and energy levels, the time has come for a group of new leaders to take over so that they can take a back seat while still supporting the Branch.

However, there is a real DANGER that the branch will go rapidly backward if new leaders don’t come forward. It is important that this happens this Autumn so that the current incumbents can gently hand over the information they hold.

We stress that the roles concerned are not too onerous but as 70 years old we’ve run out of some steam.
