Coverack November 2022 Update

What’s On in Coverack in November 2022

We would like to thank all those people who are continuing to visit our little village and keep it as wonderful and safe as possible. Please support the small independent businesses in Coverack and follow any safety guidelines that they have in place. Please contact individual businesses about their opening times. Thank you to everyone who has supported Coverack Space 2000’s summer events, and to all those who have volunteered for us. Without your support, we wouldn’t be able to run these popular community events or offer financial support for additional activities at Coverack School.

St Peter’s Church Roof

The Scaffolding is up, and Mr Henry Blight of Lizard Roofing has started the work to remove the slates and to renew the waterproof membrane and battens. The slates will then be refitted with new copper nails. The PCC need to reach out to the wider community to continue fund raising to meet the increased costs since Covid. Thank you to all those who have so generously donated. We are continuing fund raising to enable us to complete the work as soon as possible, before the winter weather is upon us. To delay would be foolish –    with help from the community we trust we can make this happen.

The first fund raising will be a Winter Candlelit Concert by Will Keating and John Dowling on Tuesday 15th November – see above for more details.

Coverack Space 2000 Community Group:  This group was set up to raise funds for additional space at Coverack School, and has continued to organise events in the village, promote Coverack and support the School. It also maintains the Coverack Village Cornwall website, Coverack Village Facebook and Instagram pages and provides a monthly update of What’s On in Coverack. CS2000 actively supported the recent campaign to keep all of Coverack School open and will support funding for wrap-around care for Coverack School children.
The What’s On in Coverack 2022 booklet is in circulation, and is delivered to every household in Coverack. Please consider donating to CS2000 if you appreciate receiving this booklet, either through a collection pot in The Old Mill Shop or through the Pay Pal button on our website: Coverack Village Cornwall. What’s On booklets can also be bought from Coverack Village Stores.
The sale of second hand books from the box outside Coverack Village Stores helps raise funds for CS2000 – thank you so much to everyone who has supported.
