Coverack September 2022 Update

What’s On in Coverack in September 2022

We would like to thank all those people who are continuing to keep our little village and its occupants as safe as possible. Please support the small independent businesses in Coverack. Please contact individual businesses about their opening times. Thank you to everyone who has supported Coverack Space 2000 in past events, and to all those who have volunteered for us. Without your support, we wouldn’t be able to run these popular community events or offer financial support for additional activities at Coverack School.

St Peter’s Church Roof

The Church Roof work will commence with scaffolding being erected the third week in September. We are delighted to have Mr Henry Blight of Lizard Roofing doing the work. From the third week of September until mid-October there will be restricted access though the church yard from Chymbloth Way down via the Hall. It will be possible to visit graves via the Lychgate entrance, but it will be safer to use the walkways between the graves to reach a particular place. On Sundays the Church will be open for the morning service and until 1600 for prayer. The PCC committee are grateful to all who have contributed to the funds so far, with over £20,000 raised. We need help to continue to raise enough funds to keep our church in good order and watertight for future generations – please look out for an opportunity to support this project and see the Wardens for details of how to donate and support any activities this Autumn. Thank you for your support. Charles Patten and Joan Kearsley. For PCC Members, the next meeting will be on Tuesday 6th September at St Keverne Church at 1900.

Coverack Space 2000 Community Group:  This group was set up to raise funds for additional space at Coverack School, and has continued to organise events in the village, promote Coverack and support the School. It also maintains the Coverack Village Cornwall website, Coverack Village Facebook and Instagram pages and provides a monthly update of What’s On in Coverack. CS2000 actively supported the recent campaign to keep all of Coverack School open and will support funding for wrap-around care for Coverack School children.
The What’s On in Coverack 2022 booklet is in circulation, and is delivered to every household in Coverack. Please consider donating to CS2000 if you appreciate receiving this booklet, either through a collection pot in The Old Mill Shop or through the Pay Pal button on our website: Coverack Village Cornwall. What’s On booklets can also be bought from Coverack Village Stores.
The sale of second hand books from the box outside Coverack Village Stores helps raise funds for CS2000 – thank you so much to everyone who has supported.

Please send community or charity dates to go on the Coverack website and monthly email update before the end of each month to coordinator@coverack.org.uk
