We would like to thank all of those people who are continuing to keep our little village and its occupants as safe as possible. Coverack businesses are open and welcoming people back. Please support the small independent businesses in Coverack and follow any safety guidelines that they have in place. Please contact individual businesses about their opening times.

Post Office services in Coverack are Monday and Thursday 14:00 – 16:00 in St Peter’s Hall.

Thanks to everyone who took part in this year’s first Sandcastle Competition – it was a lot of fun despite the showery weather! 30 teams took part and raised nearly £90. Winners and Runners Up are listed on the Coverack website, and there’s a chance to get creative again towards the end of August! The Cake Stall for The Sepsis Trust and Holly Martin outside Brenda’s on the same day received amazing support and raised a fantastic £527!

Events:

Sat 31st July Fund Raising Concert for the Church Roof Fund has been postponed until the Autumn. Details to follow when we can enjoy the occasion safely.  

Mon 2nd – Sun 8th Aug Pirate & Mermaid Week Decorated windows & businesses throughout Coverack. Come and see the village decorated with a Pirate & Mermaid theme.
Tues 3
rd Aug Coverack Beach Clean (First Tuesday of the month) Anyone can help out, any time of day; Low Tide is at 8 am so a morning clean will work best. Please dispose of any collected rubbish carefully and recycle if you can.
Thurs 5th Aug Coverack Films returns with PG film ‘A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood’. Doors and bar open 7pm. Show starts at 7.30pm. Restricted number of tickets available on the door and from https://www.lambeagehall.org.uk/events                                             

 Thurs 12th Aug – Mon 6th Sept Coverack Village Late Summer Pisky Trail. Pisky Trails available daily between those dates. Come and find the hiding Cornish Pisky Pals. Varied route and new mystery Pisky phrase. Pisky Trails £2.50 each.           
Thurs 12th Aug Tide Challenge Coverack Beach. 2:30pm start. Last flag flying when the tide comes in, wins the event. £2.50 minimum donation per family for CS2000.                                                                                                                   

Thurs 19th Aug Night of Twinkling Lights. Coverack Beach from 8:30pm. Fund raising for the CS2000. Candle bags and tea lights available  online from http://www.coverack.org.uk and from Coverack Information Point (beside The Old Mill Shop) on the night.

Fri 20th – Sun 22nd Aug Coverack Arts Weekend at the Lambeage Hall

All weekend – Coverack Writing Group Story Trail. Free trail sheet from Lambeage Hall or Coverack Stores, also via Geocache.

Fri 20th – Coverack Films British comedy/drama 12A ‘Misbehaviour‘. 7 for 7.30pm. Advanced tickets available on Lambeage website. Also art raffle (income shared with Coverack School), advance viewing of Art Cards for Sunday’s Secret Sale and Coverack Writing Group Anthology launch.

Sat 21st – Events commence at 4pm: Rock Choir 4.30-6pm, art raffle (income to be split with Coverack School), exhibition by Coverack School pupils, advance viewing of Art Cards for Sunday’s Secret Sale, pancakes, teas & cakes, book/DVD lucky dip. Bar opens 6pm for Open Mic Night, mic open to all – book a slot with Chris on 07847934448 or email coverackartsfestival@btinternet.com

Sun 22nd – Daytime events from noon: Secret sale preview; The Greenhouse BBQ (12-4pm); Pimms bar; craft stands; art raffle (income to be split with Coverack School), 12.30pm entertainment from Walter Sanger and Kevin Jane, 1pm Secret Sale of Art Cards, 1.30pm Coverack Singing Duo Gwenda and Peter Wood, 3pm Coverack Community Dance Group. Bar opens 7pm for 7.30 – Robin Hobson, professional explorer and wildlife photographer, presents ‘The Komodo National Park plus Indonesia Sumatra and Java’; 8.45pm Raffle Draw, 9pm Robin Hobson Presents his 2nd show ‘Papua New Guinea and Islands/Costa Rica Wildlife’. Tickets for each show available on the door (possibly) and on Lambeage website. Adults £5 children £2 per show. Robin’s show was a sell out last time so booking is recommended.

Little Fishes will start again on Thursday 9th September at 10:00 – 12:00.   Contact Joan Kearsley 280337 if you wish to book the Hall for new activities in the Autumn.

Coverack Space 2000 Community Group:  This group was set up to raise funds for additional space at Coverack School, and has continued to organise events in the village, promote Coverack and support the School. It also maintains the Coverack Village Cornwall website, Coverack Village Facebook and Instagram pages and provides a monthly update of What’s On in Coverack. CS2000 actively supported the recent campaign to keep all of Coverack School open and will support funding for wrap-around care for Coverack School children.
The What’s On in Coverack 2021 booklet is in circulation, and is delivered to every household in Coverack. Please consider making a donation to CS2000 if you appreciate receiving this booklet, either through a collection pot in The Old Mill Shop or through the Pay Pal button on our website: Coverack Village Cornwall. What’s On booklets can also be bought from Coverack Village Stores.
The sale of second hand books from the box outside Coverack Village Stores helps raise funds for CS2000 – thank you so much to everyone who has supported.
